U15′s v Prestwich Mauraders

After last weeks thrashing in the Challenge Cup at the hands of Reddish Vulcans, it was back to League action this week, with an away fixture at Prestwich, played on Clifton Rd, in absolutely appalling weather conditions, of consistent rain and strong winds.

Before the kick off three regular starters, Cam Dooley, Jacob Knowles, and Murthaz reported injuries, so the dynamics of the team was severely disrupted, which was further enhanced with further injuries during pre game warm up to Alex Philpot and Farhan. so the starting eleven were made up of, Hayden Roberts GK, Matthew Buckley, James Brooke, Elliot Blenkinsop (Capt), Rob Hird, Patrick Temperley, Ashan Nathan Beckles, Prinston Kofie, Conor Fletcher, Ifran.

First half started disastrously, playing uphill against the wind and rain we conceded an own goal after 7mins, and things got even worst after a goalkeeping mistake made the score line 2-0, with 10mins left in the half, the home team scored a well taken third goal, and on the stroke of half time another goalkeeping mistake made the score at half time 4-0.

Second half we started brightly and created two good chances to pressurise the score, and as our luck would have have it, the strong wind that was behind us eased off, we kept creating chances but couldnt finish them, and Prestwich made us pay fo rour miss chaces but adding a further two to make the final score line 6-0 to the home team.

Manager’s Thought’s

This game was played in unmentionable weather conditions, but despite that and the set backs before the kick off the lads did really well, and tried their hardest to compete, each week (with the exception of last week), the performances is slowly but steadily inproving and hopefully before long they will reap the rewards.

Sad to hear that Jacob Knowles has had to quit the team through  persistant problems to both kness, I personally would like to extend my best wishes to Jacob, and thank him for all the time, effort, and commitment he has shown to the squad,

Frank
