U15′s v Denton West End

This game was played at home on Sunday 16th Oct, with a 2pm kick off on Egmount St. Before the game Conor Fletcher a player that has been with the team since under 7, told me that he was leaving for a new team, and with the late withdrawal of James Brooke  and Prinston Fofie, we were struggling to get eleven players on the field, so that left us with starting nine consisting of, Hayden Roberts (GK), Alex Philpot, Elliot Blenkinsop, Matty Buckley, Cam Dooley, Nathan Beckles, Rob Hird, Murthaz, Ashan.

As of no surprise with the numerical advantage West End had most of the possession in the first half, but a superb performance restricted the visitors to long range shooting which was easily dealt with by the defence, however as the half wore on Denton’s constant pressure told and they went in at half time 2 up.

Second half was more or less a repeat of the first, and as the half got deeper the lads just ran out of steam after giving their all for 80 minutes, and Denton ran out 8 nil winners.

Manager’s Thought

The nine lads that turned out for me on Sunday was a credit to Mossley Juniors Football Club, they knew from the start that they were up against it, but despite that still wanted to play, I cannot praise those lads to highly, each and every one of them deserved all the praise that was heaped upon them, from Referee and opposing players.
