U15′s v Crompton Villa

This game was played on Sunday October 23rd at home Egmount St, with a 2.30pm Kick off,  the Starting Line up for Mossley was, Robert Hird (GK), Farhan, Alex Philpot, Elliot Blenkinsop (Capt), Matthew Buckley, Murthaz, Cam Dooley, Nathan Beckles, Ashan, Ifran, Patrick Temperley, Subs from Prinston Fofie, & Josh Leah.

Game started with the home team playing into a stiff breeze, and both teams exchanging possession due to the conditions, however after mastering the conditions it turned out to be an evenly matched half, the visitors took a lead in the 13th minute with a cleverly taken goal, and in the 27th minute they doubled their lead. The home team came close on several occasions and finally they got their reward when Ifran tapped in from close range, as often happens soon after scoring we conceded a soft goal so the visitors restored their two goal advantage, but the home team kept pressing and pressing and finally got a penalty which Elliot converted from the spot. that made the score at half time 3-2 to Crompton.

With the wind behind our backs we set off like a train on fire but all our hard work and endeavor wasn’t  rewarded and the visitors scored a breakaway goal in the 55th minute. Mossley remained on the offensive and kept getting closer and closer with each attack, Josh Leah (making his debut) and Prinston Fofie was introduced to try and bolster the team but once again the visitors scored to make it 5-2, Finally all the home teams attacking paid off with Patrick scoring in the 75th minute. Time ran out on us to leave the score at full time 5-3 to the visitors.

I am very proud of my team as always, the lads are working very hard in training, and on match days, to turn their season around, each week I can see an improvement and that means that we are heading in the right direction.
